The fees for the following one year diploma correspondence courses are :- 

  1. The fee for Transport Economics & Management is Rs. 4000/- (commencing from January - February of every year)    and
  2. The fee for Multi-Modal Transport (Containerisation) & Logistics Management is Rs.4000/- (commencing from March- April of every year)

 

CONTACT CLASSES

For the convenience of the students these classes are normally conducted for a total of 20-25 hrs covering just 4-5 days. The final dates and time schedule will be intimated to students well in time. Students should check up the dates for the classes in November / December,   if they do not get any intimation in this respect.

A NEW DIPLOMA COURSE

TWO YEAR DIPLOMA COURSE IN PORT DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENT

In the context of the present liberalisation of the economy resulting in rapid growth of foreign trade having a multitude effect on sea-borne traffic, transport infrastructure as a whole needs major investments to set right deficiencies. In this context port infrastructure is particularly demanding much attention now-a-days. The expanding ports capacities would require increased numbers of trained personnel for efficient management of operations.

Keeping this in view, the Institute of Rail Transport have with the assistance of the Chartered Institute of Transport decided to launched a Post-Graduate two-year Diploma Course in Port Development & Management in 2001. 

The faculty identified for this Distance Education Diploma Course have rich experience in the public/private sector and some of them have specialised in this subject. They include the following:-

Twenty four (24) Modules have been designed for this course. This course is being launched during 2000.

This Diploma course has also been recognised by the ministry of railways as additional desirable qualification for the post of ASM and Traffic/Commercial Apprentices.

The Course fee is Rs. 6000/- for two years. (commencing from May - June of every year).
